Washing Machine Repair fault guides
Why is my washing machine not spinning?
The most common causes are an unbalanced load, a clogged drain filter, a worn carbon brush in the motor, or a faulty door latch that prevents the spin cycle starting. Try redistributing the laundry and cleaning the filter first. If the problem continues, a Go Assist engineer can diagnose the motor or latch issue in a single visit.
Why is my washing machine leaking?
Leaks usually come from a perished door seal (drum seal), a blocked pump or filter causing overflow, or a loose connection on the inlet/outlet hoses. Check the door seal for cracks and ensure the filter cap is tightly closed. A persistent leak needs a professional check to avoid floor and electrical damage.
Why is my washing machine not draining?
If water remains in the drum after a cycle, the drain filter is almost certainly blocked. Locate the filter (usually bottom-right behind a small panel), place a towel down, then slowly unscrew and clear any debris. If the filter is clear, the pump or control board may be at fault and will need an engineer.
What customers say about Go Assist Bournemouth
Booked online at 9am, engineer arrived by noon. Washing machine fixed in under an hour. Really impressed with the speed and the engineer explained everything clearly.
Really straightforward to book. The engineer was on time, sorted the washing machine drum bearing fault. Was worried it couldn't be fixed but it's running perfectly now.
Ken was brilliant — knew straight away it was the door latch on the washing machine. Had the part, fixed it within the hour. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
